The price of the paperback of Without Regret makes me cringe....

I probably should have mentioned this before, but for those who read my books in paperback I owe you an apology. While I've been able to keep the other at $9.99(and yeah event that price makes me wince) I was unable to keep the price down for Without Regret. I publish my books through my own publishing house and that means that I have to outsource the print job for the books. The company I go through is great. They're fast, reliable and offer great deals, but they're still in the business of making money and I understand that.

So in order to print through them I have to have set prices to make sure everything is covered. Without Regret is a much longer book than my previous books, more pages means more money to print it. When I originally put the book through the asking price for each book would have had to be $18.00.....yeah, wasn't going with that. So, I paid a fee for that book and brought the cost down the readers, but not enough to go at my usual $9.99 price. I'm sorry about that. I had to place it at $13.00 or they wouldn't be able to place the books.

What I'm hoping to do, after I check my contact to make sure it's all nice and legal, is to offer the paperback books at a discounted price through my site. I won't be able to cover shipping and handling, but I should be able to knock several dollars off the book by doing this. The same thing can be said for the other books. It will take me a little bit of time to set this up, but I felt I owed an explanation for the price.

Where has the summer gone?

It seems like only yesterday my five year old was getting off her bus on the last day of school and I was just starting the second Neighbor From Hell novel. Now I'm on the third and fourth and Chris' book is coming along nicely. His book is taking longer because it's a paranormal novel and it takes a great deal of attention to detail to make sure I set everything up correctly. I'm trying to put as much information in the book as I can about Sentinels, Pytes, Demons and shifters without the book coming off as boring. Right now I'm on chapter 20 of Chris' book, from this point I would have to say there will probably be around 35 chapters so I have a little ways to go. I'm also currently working on several Pyte books. They're a great deal of fun to write and I hope when they're done that they're also enjoyable to read.

First post.....very exciting stuff.

Well, this is my first post, granted I opened this blogger account up several months ago, but may have forgotten about it with everything going on. Now I'm back and......

I honestly have no idea what I should write so I'm thinking some rambling is in order here.

Hmmm, I'm working on several, and when I say several I actually mean 8 or 10 books at a time. I have this whole system that has never failed me. Granted I've only published three books, but that's neither here nor there. Anyway my system for writing reflects my mood. If I'm in a joking mood I find myself working on one of my many contemporary novels. If I'm in a serious mood I've found myself lately hitting Chris', the first Sentinel book of the series, which is kind of weird since there's some humor in his book. I have four Pyte books that I'm really enjoying working on and can't seem to put off for a little while, which is probably why I've decided to delay my first EMS novel. I don't want to send it out before I'm a hundred percent happy with it.

Being a big fan of G.A. Aiken (and I cannot wait for Eibhear and Izzy's story) I've decided to hit What a Dragon Should Know once again since it's a great story. Anyone read that book? I loved it. Hmm, enough rambling for now. Hopefully next time I'll have something more interesting to share or at least an update.
